A local dentist, Dr. Abby Raymond, in Tupelo, MS approached me with a task of creating a logo for an event that would help Veterans receive free dental work on a specific day once a year. It was clear what I wanted to do instantly seeing as it was for military veterans, and Dr. Raymond himself was also an army veteran and is still active National Guard.
The body of the eagle is a tooth, and the eagle is holding dental tools symbolizing dentistry. Normally the eagle head, in other emblems, would be facing to the right on the side that is holding the olive branch, but I wanted this eagle to face forward to symbolize the "moving forward" to accomplishing the dental goals of each veteran.
